An Oxford-trained archaeologist and award-winning journalist, Vernon Silver is a senior writer at Bloomberg News in Rome. His distinguished reporting on art and culture has appeared in the New York Times, the Boston Globe, Spy magazine, and other publications. Silver has won a George Polk Award, an Overseas Press Club of America Award, and has been honored by the Society of Professional Journalists. A native New Yorker, he graduated from Brown University, studied Egyptology at the American University in Cairo, and earned a master’s and doctorate in archaeology at Oxford.
